The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) seeks
applications to fund the Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) Initiative.
Approximately $13.3 million dollars will be made available to support GIVE in
the 17 counties outside of New York City that represent 82% of the Part I violent
crime in New York State. These counties were selected based on the three-year
(2013-2015) volume of Part I violent crime (murder, rape, robbery, and
aggravated assault) reported through the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) system.

DCJS expects to award SFY 2018-19 funding for the program period July 1, 2018
through June 30, 2019, contingent on the merit of applications and the availability
of state funding.

Additional information, including program goals and objectives, eligible applicants
and program services, application requirements, and criteria for awards, are outlined
in the RFA on the DCJS’ website at:

www .criminaljustice.ny.gov/ofpa/newrfp.htm.
