NYSDOL is making up to $401,865 for the NDWG-HM program available until January 10, 2020. This represents the unawarded balance of the NDWG-HM program funds as of July 30, 2019. Up to an additional $9 million may be made available following the accrued expenditure of the initial $1 million. This funding is available for the provision of participant outreach and Career Center enrollment, job ready and career development services, employment access and follow-up services to individuals who are unemployed or underemployed due to or impacted by Hurricane Maria and/or migrated to NYS from Puerto Rico after being dislocated due to Hurricane Maria. Single award amounts will not exceed $100,000. Applicants that receive an award under this RFA, accrue expenditures of at least 70% of the award amount, and maintain compliance with the terms and conditions of the RFA may reapply for an additional $100,000 award, if sufficient funding and time remain. NYSDOL encourages applicants to expend awards rapidly and apply for additional funding. Periodically, an amended RFA with the revised funding availability will be announced in the NYS Contract Reporter, Grants Gateway and on the NYSDOL’s Funding Opportunity webpage.
This RFA seeks to assist individuals, residing or receiving service in one or more of the following target communities: New York City (consisting of Bronx, Kings, Queens, Richmond and New York counties) and/or the following counties: Broome; Erie; Monroe; Montgomery; Nassau; Onondaga; Suffolk and/or Tompkins, who are unemployed or underemployed due to, migrated to NYS from Puerto Rico after being dislocated due to, and/or have otherwise had their employment impacted by Hurricane Maria.
Eligible Applicants must be not-for-profit (NFP) community-based organizations or governmental entities with two or more or more employees (or the equivalent of two full-time employees), headquartered in or with at least one site located in NYS at the time of application, in good standing with NYS departments, and have experience in outreach and service provision to the target population.
