The New York State Office of Victim Services (OVS) is seeking proposals for the 2019 Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Victim and Witness Assistance Grant Program, which provides financial support to community-based organizations providing direct services to victims of crime. The VOCA Victim and Witness Assistance Grant Program is funded by the Federal Victims of Crime Act of 1984 which supports both victim compensation and victim assistance programs in each state. VOCA funds are administered by the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) within the Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice. The primary purpose of the VOCA Victim and Witness Assistance Grant Program and this Request for Applications (RFA) is to support direct services that respond to the immediate needs of crime victims.
The deadline for the submission of questions is February 7, 2019. Responses to questions will be posted on the OVS website (www.ovs.ny.gov) by February 20, 2019 and uploaded into the Gateway as part of the RFA document.
