PLEASE NOTE: Amendment 1, dated 7/12/23, has been issued for this RFA. Please see full RFA for details.

The Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) is seeking applications for the development of Evidence-Based Prevention Education Programs throughout the State of New York. In coordination with the Office of Mental Health’s (OMH) school-based clinics and the New York State Education Department’s (NYSED) Office of Innovation and School Reform, applicants will need to partner with one of the eight schools that have been identified on NYSED’s receivership list (see Section 1.3), as well as having an OMH school-based mental health clinic operating at the school. These targeted schools have a higher than state average Opioid Burden as identified by OASAS Division of Prevention and Problem Gambling. Applicants will be implementing Incredible Years, Positive Action, Triple P, and Teen Intervene EBP Education Practices (EBP), depending on the grade levels of the participating schools. In collaboration with OMH and the Mental Health Association of New York State (MHANYS), schools will also receive training in Teen and/or Youth Mental Health First Aid making this an integrated (SUD and MH) approach to prevention services.
