The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Office of Environmental Justice (OEJ) will make available $3,078,000 for Environmental Justice Community Impact Grants to community-based organizations for projects that address exposure of communities to multiple environmental harms and risks (“projects”). Eligible applicants are community-based organizations having Not-For-Profit Corporation's (NFP) 501(c)(3) status, or a community-based organization may partner with a NFP that will serve as their fiscal sponsor. Grant applications must be developed and electronically submitted in the NYS Grants Gateway no later than 3:00 p.m. on February 28, 2017. The minimum and maximum amount an applicant may request ranges between $2,500 to $50,000. Matching funds are not a requirement under this grant opportunity.
